Actor Vijay Antony was brutally criticised on the internet after he wrote about Pakistanis seeking peace post the ghastly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, that killed 26. On Monday, he took to his social media to issue a clarification over his statement that caused a stir online.
Antony took to his X handle and wrote, "For those who have misunderstood my message... The brutal massacre in Kashmir was committed by a monstrous group of terrorists, whose only goal is to break the strong bond of unity. The Government of India and we, as Indians, will protect our sovereignty with a strong hand (sic)."

On April 27, Antony had condemned the terrorist attack in his statement and had extended his condolences to the bereaved families. However, it was one remark in the statement that caught the public's attention.
"My heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in Kashmir. This is a painful moment for all of us as Indians. At the same time, we should be concerned about the 50 lakh Indians in Pakistan, who along with Pakistanis like us, seek peace and happiness. Let’s choose love and humanity over hatred (sic)."
Netizens accused Antony for "sympathising" with Pakistan at a time when tensions between the two countries are at peak.
Vijay Antony's upcoming projects
On the work front, Antony was last seen in Romeo, Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan, and Hitler in 2024. He is currently busy with the shoot of Gagana Maargan and he also has Shakthi Thirumagan in the pipeline.
Besides, Antony will also be seen in films like Valli Mayil, Agni Siragugal, and Khakhee, among others.
