'Ranveer Ghum Ho Gaya...': Ashish Chanchlani Reveals Police Came To Him First For Questioning In Latent Row, Says His Parents Were Scared
Ashish Chanchlani, caught in the India’s Got Latent controversy earlier this year, recalled the two-month turmoil. "Samay (Raina) was in Vancouver, Apoorva (Mukhija) was scared, Ranveer (Allahbadia) ghum ho gaye. Only I was left in Bandra, so the police came to me first,” he told Faridoon Shahryar, adding that his parents were frightened and every reaction, even his laughter, was scrutinised.

YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani, who was embroiled in the India's Got Latent controversy earlier this year after appearing as a panelist alongside Apoorva Mukhija and Ranveer Allahbadia, opened up about the tumultuous period, revealing that the police first came to his residence in Bandra, Mumbai, for questioning. He also shared that his parents were afraid and that the authorities scrutinised every reaction, including his laughter on the show, which he had to justify in detail.

Speaking to Faridoon Shahryar, Ashish recalled how those two months were full of turmoil for everyone who was on the show. "At that time, Samay was in Vancouver, they were not able to find Apoorva and she was scared also, I still believe uski mistake thi nahi. Ranveer (Allahbadia) ghum ho gaye, so only I was left in Bandra and the police knew where I live, so they came to me first and I had to record my statements with the police," he added.
Ashish Chanchlani Reveals His Parents Were Scared
Further, Ashish said that his parents were scared, sharing how the most affected were not the police or the media, but his family. He explained that he had never been in such a position in his entire life, as he had consciously chosen to stay away from topics like religion and politics and avoided making jokes about them. He said the Latent controversy was the first time a controversy had walked into his life.
Ashish Chanchlani Recalls Shooting When Controversy Erupted
"I was shooting when this happened, mere bhai ne bola, 'Band kar, ghar bhag. Bohot lafde hue hai.' When I was reaching home, everyone was looking at me. It was scary," shared the YouTuber.
"It was difficult for me, but it was very difficult for Samay, Apoorva and others. 2 months circus hua hai," concluded Ashish.
