Ranveer Allahbadia Controversy: Complaint Filed Against YouTuber & Samay Raina For 'Promoting Obscenity' On India's Got Latent

Following the backlash, the Hindu IT Cell filed a complaint with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting against Ranveer and Samay for 'promoting obscenity'. The latest episode of India’s Got Latent, hosted by comedian Samay Raina, has triggered a major social media uproar. Digital content creator Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as Beer Biceps, appeared as a panelist in the episode, where he was seen asking lewd and incestuous questions to a contestant about parental intercourse. The viral clip has led to outrage on social media, with netizens questioning the limits of freedom of speech and censorship on digital platforms.
Hindu IT Cell files complaint against Ranveer, Samay
Following the backlash, the Hindu IT Cell took action by filing a complaint against India’s Got Latent and Ranveer. Taking to their X (formerly Twitter) account, the group announced that a person named Akshit Singh had lodged an official complaint with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting against Samay and Ranveer for "promoting obscenity."
"We have filed an official complaint with Ministry of Information and Broadcasting against @ReheSamay & @BeerBicepsGuy for promoting obscenity. Jai Hind," the post read.
The complaint was filed on Sunday (February 9).
Social media calls for a ban on Ranveer Allahbadia & the show
Concerns have also been raised regarding the show’s overall content, which allegedly includes racist remarks, sexual jokes, and objectification. Many believe that such content breaches the ethical boundaries of online entertainment.
As outrage mounted, social media users launched a campaign to boycott Ranveer Allahbadia and India’s Got Latent. Many netizens have called for unsubscribing and unfollowing him across YouTube and other platforms, arguing that he does not deserve the fame and influence he enjoys.
A section of users also demanded Samay and Ranveer's arrest.
Despite the controversy escalating, neither Samay nor Ranveer has addressed the backlash or issued an apology.
Meanwhile, Ranveer is known for his spirituality and often shares insights about his spiritual journey on his podcasts.
On the other hand, India's Got Latent is one of the most popular shows currently and has received widespread acclaim. Several celebrities like Uorfi Javed, Rakhi Sawant, Tanmay Bhatt, Farah Khan, Bharti Singh, Haarsh Limbachiyaa, Raftaar, Poonam Pandey, Tony Kakkar, Avika Gor, Raghu Ram have appeared on the show as guests.
