Mumbai: Marathi Actress Urmila Kothare Injured After Her Car Hits Two Workers In Kandivali, One Killed & Another Injured (VIDEO)
A case has been registered against the car driver, Gajanan Pal, 58, at the Samta Nagar police station on Saturday.

Mumbai: Marathi actress Urmila Kanetkar's car hit two Metro workers in Kandivali East, resulting in the death of one worker and severe injuries to another. The actress and car driver also sustained minor injuries in the incident, which occurred last night near Kandivali's Poisar Metro Station. A case has been registered against the car driver, Gajanan Pal, 58, at the Samta Nagar police station on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Smratdas Jitendradas, 24, a resident of Goregaon West. Another 0-year-old worker, who sustained injuries, is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Kurar. Both the car driver and the actress sustained minor injuries but were protected from serious harm due to the airbags.

According to the police, the accident took place around 12:45 a.m. while Urmila Kanetkar was returning from her shoot in her car, which was being driven by her driver. The car was reportedly speeding when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to strike the workers on its left side. The workers were engaged in pipeline work at the Metro site. One worker died on the spot, while the other was rushed to a private hospital by bystanders.
Both workers hailed from West Bengal and had come to Mumbai for work. Their contractor had provided them accommodation in Goregaon West, where they were residing. The police have registered a case against the driver under Section 106(1) (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
