Director Ashwin Kumar's mythological animated action drama Mahavatar Narsimha opened to a decent start at the Indian box office, collecting Rs 2.29 crore on its first day across five languages. The film, backed by Hombale Films, has found its strongest audience in the Hindi-speaking belt, where it earned an impressive Rs 1.51 crore alone on the first day of its release, Friday (July 25).

Telugu: Rs 38 lakh
Kannada: Rs 7 lakh
Malayalam: Rs 3 lakh
