Sunita Ahuja, the wife of actor Govinda, recently opened up on the sensational incident involving the actor, when he had accidentally shot himself in the leg in 2024. Sunita revealed that her first question when she found out about the incident was if Govinda had shot himself or had someone fired at him.
Sunita told Hindustan Times that it was her driver who first informed her about the incident before rushing the actor to the hospital. "My driver called me and said Govinda was shot. I said, 'Lagi ya kisi ne maar di?' That is when he informed that the actor had accidentally shot at himself while cleaning his revolver," she said.
She went on to say that she also joked when Govinda spoke to her. "Govinda told me 'Goli lag gaya'. I told him, ‘Tumne kahi khud toh nahi maar diya?' He said, ‘Abhi bhi mazak soojh raha hai?' That’s when I told him not to panic and calm down. I feared he might get a heart attack," she shared.
Sunita said that she then called their daughter Tina Ahuja and asked her to take Govinda to the hospital. "I never panic in any situation," she added.
For those unversed, on October 1, Govinda injured himself after he accidentally fired his revolver while cleaning it and a bullet hit near his knee. The actor suffered heavy blood loss and he was rushed to the hospital. Sunita was reportedly in Kolkata at that time.
