According to sources, 13 scenes that had some controversial dialogues, written by actor Gopy, would be erased. Mohanlal, who had to face bulk of the criticism for accepting a role in movie, had little role in these dialogues as he appears only an hour after the start of the film.
Critics say it was Sukumaran and Gopy who decided to mix politics into L2: Empuraan, the second part of the trilogy, Lucifer being the first, which largely remained apolitical.
