The Pride Month is current going on, and actor Palash Dutta, who has been a part of films like Mohabbatein, Dhoom, Grand Masti, and others, recently in an interview, spoke about same-sex marriage not being legalised in India. He also stated that if Karan Johar supports the LGBTQIA+ community, it will help in legalising same-sex marriage in the country.

During an interview with Zoom, Palash, who came out as gay a few years ago, said, "If Karan Johar speaks and supports the LGBTQIA community, it will really raise eyebrows and work towards the long-term rights for same-sex marriage. His voice would definitely reach the Supreme Court. He can be the torchbearer for the people of the community."

"His support will really be helpful to the LGBTQIA community to basically legalise same-sex marriage in India. His voice would definitely make a difference. There might be a ripple effect and it might really work as far as the Supreme Court is concerned to legalise same-sex marriage," he added.

While consensual same-sex relationships have been decriminalized in India, same-sex marriage is not yet legalised. In October 2023, the Indian Supreme Court ruled against legalising same-sex marriage. However, the LGBTQIA+ community is still hoping that same-sex marriage will one day be legalised in the country.

Palash Dutta's Father Passed Away A Few Days Ago

A loving father, tender and kind what a beautiful memory you left behind. May you're gentle and pious soul rest in everlasting heavenly peace Om.Shanti (sic)."
