Kannada actress and former politician Ramya is going to file a complaint against the fans of actor Darshan, who have been trolling her on social media, and giving her rape and death threats. The actress has revealed that she will be meeting the Bengaluru commissioner on Monday regarding the same.
While talking to India Today, Ramya said, "Bengaluru commissioner is giving me time today, so I will be going and meeting him. I've also got in touch with my lawyers, and we're just trying to collate all the messages and put them together for the complaint."
The actress further added that it is pathetic and very sad that abusing women on social media has become a norm, and the trolls are getting away with it.
Kannada Actor Darshan Was Arrested In Connection With A Murder
Kannada actor Darshan was arrested last year in June in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy, a native of Chitradurga. She was allegedly murdered for passing derogatory comments on Darshan's associate, Pavithra Gowda.
Further talking about the comments that she is facing online, Ramya revealed, "'Instead of Renukaswamy, you should have been murdered'. They issued rape and death threats. And the usual cuss words. I realised that there is no difference between what Renukaswamy did and what his fans are doing."
However, the actress also revealed that she is getting a lot of support from others on social media. She said, "I'm quite surprised on social media the kind of support I've received."
Renukaswamy Murder Case Update
Darshan and Pavithra Gowda were granted bail in December 2024. But a few days ago, it was reported that the Supreme Court of India had expressed strong disapproval of the Karnataka High Court's decision to grant bail to Darshan in the Renukaswamy murder case. The SC has reserved its decision on the Karnataka government's appeal to cancel this bail.
