Om Raut Teams Up With Dhanush For Biopic On APJ Abdul Kalam After Adipurush Failure, Shares FIRST Look
Director Om Raut has finally announced a new film titled Kalam: The Missile Man of India, based on the life of former President and renowned aerospace scientist Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, who will be portrayed by Tamil superstar Dhanush. This marks Om Raut's first project since the failure of Adipurush in 2023.

This marks Om Raut's first project since the failure of Adipurush in 2023. The makers unveiled the title poster on Wednesday night at the 78th Cannes Film Festival.
Sharing the first look on X (formerly Twitter) Om wrote, "From Rameswaram to Rashtrapati Bhavan, the journey of a legend beginsโฆIndiaโs Missile Man is coming to the silver screen. Dream big. Rise higher. #KALAM - ๐ง๐ต๐ฒ ๐ ๐ถ๐๐๐ถ๐น๐ฒ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ป๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฎ."

Dhanush, who re-shared the first poster, wrote, "I feel truly blessed and deeply humbled to be portraying the life of such an inspirational and magnanimous leader โ our very own Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam sir."
In an official statement, Om said, "In an era starved of true statesmen, Kalam stood above politics and pettiness. He was a man who was known for the power of education, excellence and indigenous innovation. To bring his story to screen is an artistic challenge and a moral and cultural responsibility. Itโs a story thatโs inspirational for global youth and especially the youth of the Global South. It's the most important experience of my life. His life is a lesson that is bound to connect with people no matter who they are and where they come from."
The film will be produced By Abhishek Agarwal, Anil Sunkara, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar.

Adipurush starred Saif Ali Khan, Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Sunny Singh in lead roles. It was one of the most expensive Indian films ever made but failed majorly at the box office after being heavily criticised for its poorly written dialogues and visuals.
