Social media influencer Apoorva Mukhija and Youtuber Ashish Chanchlani were summoned by the Mumbai Police on Wednesday in connection with the controversial episode of Samay Raina's show India's Got Latent, where the two had appeared as guests along with Ranveer Allahbadia. The two recorded their statement with the cops, and stated that India's Got Latent is not a scripted show.
The duo, in their official statement to the cops, said that the judges and participants are "told to talk openly" on the show, and that the members of the judges' panel are not paid for their stint. "The judges have the freedom to post the content of the show on their social media," they said.
They also told the police that one has to buy tickets to participate in the show as a spectator and the money that comes from the ticket sales is given to the winner of the episode.

A complaint has been registered by Mumbai Police against Apoorva, Ashish, Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina and others over the controversy that erupted post the latest episode of India's Got Latent. During the episode, Ranveer asked a contestant, "Would you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life — or would you join in once and stop it forever?" Apoorva and Samay were seen laughing out loud at his statement.
The comment did not go down well with netizens who called it "disgusting" on Ranveer's part, and soon, the members of the judges panel got slapped with multiple police complaints and FIRs.
In another segment, Apoorva was seen asking a contestant if he had ever seen a vagina.
Post the criticism, the Youtuber issued an apology stating that there was a "lapse in judgement" and that comedy was not his forte, but seems like the netizens and lawmakers are in no mood to forgive the Youtuber.
