Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan made history at the MET Gala 2025 as the first male actor from the Hindi film industry to walk the prestigious red carpet. Dressed in a striking creation by renowned Indian designer Sabyasachi, the globally beloved actor brought a blend of elegance, humility, and charm to fashion's biggest night.
While the world celebrated his milestone appearance, Shah Rukh remained characteristically modest.
Speaking to international media at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, he said, "I don't know about making history, but I'm extremely nervous and excited. My designer Sabyasachi convinced me to come here. I've not done too many red carpets, I'm very shy. For me, it's the first time and it's wonderful to be here."
Shah Rukh' shared that he had only one request for his designer, "I told Sabya I only wear black and white but what he's designed for me is what I'm most comfortable in. That's how I think it should be."
When asked what he was most excited about, the 59-year-old actor revealed it was his children who nudged him toward saying yes to the MET Gala.
"I have little kids who are very excited about MET. I don't know if I would have come here on my own, but when Sabya suggested I should attend, they went, 'Wow.' But I still don't know if it was 'Wow, they called you?' or 'Wow, you'd be good'," he quipped with his signature wit.

However, what truly stole the spotlight was his striking layered jewellery featuring a dazzling set of gold chains anchored by an oversized 'K' pendant, honouring his icoic title 'King Khan'.
He accessorised his look with a few bold rings, luxe watch, sleek black glasses and black shoes.
Shah Rukh joined fellow Indian celebrities Priyanka Chopra, Kiara Advani, and Diljit Dosanjh at this year's event, which celebrated the theme Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, inspired by Monica L Miller's book Slaves to Fashion.
With his debut, Shah Rukh not only represented India on one of fashion's grandest stages but also reminded the world why he continues to reign, both on and off the screen.
