'I Was Fully Down': Fatima Sana Shaikh Reveals Man Assaulted Her After She Hit Him For Touching Her Inappropriately

Actress Fatima Sana Shaikh recently revealed how a man had assaulted her after she hit him for touching her inappropriately in public. She shared that she grew cautious about reacting to such incidents after that day, and also said that it was ironic.

Recalling the harrowing incident, Fatima told Hauterrfly, "Once, a man had touched me inappropriately, and I hit him. But he hit me back so hard, that I was fully down. I only hit him because he touched me, but that pissed him off and he hit me to the point that I fell."

She went on to say, "After that incident, I got a little more cautious. I realised that we also have to check how to react in such situations. But look at the irony... Something wrong is happening with us, and we only have to think how to react to it."

Tempo driver followed me in Mumbai: Fatima Sana Shaikh

Fatima also recalled an incident which happened rather recently and in Mumbai itself.

"During the COVID-19 lockdown, I was riding my bicycle in Mumbai wearing a mask, and there was this tempo driver who kept honking and making weird sounds at me. And till the time I didn't take a turn in my lane, he kept following me," she shared.

She added that such incidents are common, irrespective of a person being a celebrity or a commoner. "You only have to be a girl for it," she said.

On the work front, Fatima was recently seen in the film, Metro...In Dino, directed by Anurag Basu. She was paired opposite Ali Fazal in it, and the film has received rave responses from the audience and critics alike.

Fatima's latest film, Aap Jaisa Koi, released on Netflix on Friday, and it also stars R Madhavan. The film is a mature love story between two middle-aged people and how the woman takes the stand for herself in a conservative family while also fighting for her love.
