Singer-actor Harrdy Sandhu was detained by Chandigarh Police on Saturday (February 8, 2025), just before his performance at the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour, allegedly for performing without permission. Police stated that the organiaers only had permission to play his music during the show, not for Sandhu to sing at the event.
Harrdy was taken to the Sector-34 police station, where he was asked to provide a separate permit for performing live at the event. The Tribune reported that he was released soon after the organisers produced the necessary permits for both the fashion show and live music performance.
SHO Satwinder of Chandigarh's Sector 34 police station told India Today, "As 'Fashion and Music' was only written in the permission letter, there was no mention of singing. Harrdy Sandhu, while rehearsing before the show, played music loudly, which required police verification to confirm whether they had permission for live singing."
Further, Hindustan Times reported that Harrdy left Chandigarh without performing at the show as he was annoyed and upset after his detention. People present at the event confirmed that the singer did not take the stage.
Harrdy is yet to release an official statement regarding the same.
