Govinda's former secretary, Shashi Prabhu, passed away on March 6, 2025. The actor attended his funeral and got very emotional. A video of Govinda has made it to social media in which he is seen crying at the last rites. Reportedly, Prabhu, passed away due to cardiac arrest at around 4.15pm at his residence Niranjan Society, Chikuwadi, Borivali.
Govinda's current secretary is Shashi Sinha, and some reports claimed that Sinha has passed away. However, Sinha is alive and while talking to E Times about Prabhu, he revealed, "He was Govinda's childhood friend. From the very beginning, they shared a close bond, and for many years, he also worked for Govinda. I got to know him later. But during Govinda's early struggles, he was like a brother to him. Govinda loved him like a brother, and their relationship remains the same to this day."

A few days ago, Govinda had made it to the headlines for his alleged divorce with wife Sunita Ahuja. There were reports that the couple are heading for a divorce as the actor is in an affair with a Marathi film actress. However, Sinha had denied such reports and blamed the recent interviews of Sunita that went out of proportion. Well, neither Sunita nor Govinda gave a clarification on it.
Talking about his movies, Govinda was last seen on the big screens in 2019 release Rangeela Raja which was a disaster at the box office. The actor has not signed any film yet. Meanwhile, reportedly, he is working on a few projects, and will be starting a film soon.
Last year, the Hero No. 1 had also made it to the headlines as he had shot himself by mistake in the leg. He was rushed to the hospital, and now, he is absolutely fine. A few weeks ago, he had also made an appearance on Netflix's The Great Indian Kapil Show.
