Actress-choreographer Dhanashree Verma, who was earlier married to Punjab Kings leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, congratulated Royal Challengers Bengaluru on winning IPL 2025. RCB handed over a heartbreaking defeat to PBKS as the latter fell short of just 6 runs to lift the trophy.
Dhanashree took to her Instagram stories on Wednesday morning and shared a photo of RCB legend Virat Kohli taking a victory lap at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad with the coveted IPL 2025 trophy in his arms. "Finally! No 18 for 18... Congratulations @virat.kohli and the team (sic)," she wrote.
Both RCB and PBKS had not won the IPL trophy in the 18 years of the cash-rich tournament, but Kohli and co finally broke the jinx on Tuesday night.

Interestingly, Chahal too had been a part of RCB for the longest time as he played under Kohli from 2014 to 2021. He was also a part of the squad in 2016 when RCB had lost the IPL finals. However, in 2022, he was dropped by RCB, post which he joined Rajasthan Royals, and in 2025, he was picked up by Punjab Kings.
Chahal and Dhanashree got married in December 2020 after meeting and falling in love during the COVID-19 lockdown. However, their marriage hit a rough patch in 2024, and they were officially granted divorce in March 2025. While they were married, Dhanashree was often seen in the stands, cheering for Chahal, and hyping him even when the games did not go in his favour.
While the reason behind their divorce is not known, reports stated that it was because Dhanashree wanted Chahal to shift base in Mumbai to support her professional commitments, but the cricketer was in no mood to move cities.
