Bollywood actress Preity Zinta took some time off her busy schedule to interact with her fans and followers on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Friday (February 21). During the interaction, Preity shared her experience of interacting with AI chatbot Grok3, describing it as both 'scary and fascinating'.
In her post, she revealed that she spent over two hours in conversation with the AI, finding it so 'real and raw' that she momentarily forgot she was speaking to a machine.
"I've been jet lagged before thanks to a hectic travel schedule but this time it’s a bit different. How ? I feel a bit silly saying it but I spent over two hours having the most fun conversation with Grok3 ! It felt so real & raw that I almost forgot I was talking to a machine 🤔 It’s both scary & fascinating ! My compliments to the makers of this amazing AI chat box for a job well done," she wrote.
While praising the chatbot's creators, Preity also expressed concerns about people turning to AI for emotional support instead of human interaction. "No amount of technology can or should replace real human interaction," Preity added.
However, her post sparked speculation, with some assuming it was a paid promotion. Addressing the skepticism in a follow-up post, the Kal Ho Naa Ho actress questioned the growing cynicism on social media.
"If one talks about their first chat with an AI bot, people presume it’s a paid promotion. If you appreciate your PM, you are a 'bhakt.' If you are a proud Hindu or Indian, then you are labeled 'Andh Bhakt'," she wrote.
Urging people to take a more open-minded approach, Preity added, "Let’s take people for who they are and not who we think they should be. Maybe we all need to take a chill pill and just be happy to communicate with each other."
To conclude her note on a lighter note, she preempted any personal queries with a humourous remark about her marriage to Gene Goodenough, saying, "Now don’t ask me why I married Gene. I married him because I love him."
Meanwhile, on the work front, Preity made her Bollywood debut in 1998 with Mani Ratnam's Dil Se, starring Shah Rukh and Manisha Koirala in the lead. She shot to fame with films like Soldier, Koi..Mil Gaya, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, Dil Chahta Hai, and more.
The actress is all set to make her comeback with Lahore 1947, which also stars Sunny Deol and his son Karan Deol. The Rajkumar Santoshi directorial is backed by Aamir Khan Productions.
