Actress Emma Stone, who attended the premiere of her upcoming film Eddington at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival, was attacked by a bee on the red carpet while she was posing with her co-actors. Several pictures and videos of the incident have been doing the rounds on social media platforms.

While posing for photos with Joaquin Phoenix, Ari Aster, Austin Butler, Pedro Pascal, and Luke Grimes, the actress was seen swatting away a bee that flew a little too close for comfort.

Initially, she tried to shoo the insect away with her hand. Seeing her struggle, Austin stepped in and tried to blow the bee away using his breath - a tactic that, unfortunately, didn’t work.

As the bee buzzed persistently around her, Pedro also jumped into action, using his hand to try to redirect the insect. Emma, doing her best to stay composed, eventually took cover behind the actor, clutching his shoulders as the bee flew off. The cast shared a laugh over the unexpected incident on the red carpet.

Soon after the video surfaced, fans, however, couldn’t get enough of the moment, taking to social media to joke about Emma's dramatic and relatable reaction.

"Emma Stone vs The Bee... a short film," wrote a user on X (formerly known as Twitter). Another wrote, "New meme unlocked."

"That’s the most Emma Stone thing ever," read another comment.

"This literally me with bees cause yall think 💩 a game till they sting u," wrote a user.

Meanwhile, Eddington received a five-minute standing ovation during its premiere at the prestigious event. The film is a contemporary Western set in the COVID-19 era.

The audience's reaction to the film was overwhelming, with many in attendance rising to their feet to applaud the cast and crew.

Joaquin Phoenix also got emotional and was moved to tears during the standing ovation.

'Eddington' is set in May 2020 and follows a standoff between a small-town sheriff and mayor, sparking a powder keg of political and social tensions in Eddington, New Mexico.
