'Divorce Has Been Done': Lawyer Confirms Yuzvendra Chahal & Dhanashree Verma Are Officially Divorced, 'Marriage Is Dissolved'

Mumbai: Celebrity couple Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma's divorce reports have been in the news for the past couple of months. In a major development regarding this on Thursday, the two got officially divorced at Bandra Family Court In Mumbai. This was confirmed by Chahal's lawyer who spoke to media persons at the court premises.
The family court in Mumbai granted divorce by mutual consent to Indian leg-spinner cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer-actress Dhanashree Verma.
While talking to the media, the lawyer said, "Divorce has been done. The marriage is dissolved."
Dhanashree and Chahal got engaged in 2020 and got married in December of the same year in a private ceremony in Gurugram. "The court has granted the decree of divorce. Divorce has been granted. The marriage has been dissolved. They are no longer husband and wife. The petition for divorce by mutual consent has been accepted," Yuzvendra Chahal's lawyer said.
There were reports that Dhanashree will be getting a whopping amount of Rs. 4.50 crore in alimony. When the media outside court questioned the lawyer about the alimony amount, he said, "Nothing, no more comments."

Yuzvendra Chahal-Dhanashree divorce fast-tracked as Bombay HC waives cooling-off
On Wednesday, the Bombay High Court directed the Bandra Family Court to take the decision in the divorce case by Thursday. Reportedly, the six months cooling period was waived off for the couple who have parted ways.
Keeping in view Chahal's participation in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) beginning on Sunday, aA bench of Justice Madhav Jamdar of the Bombay HC directed the family court to decide the divorce petition on Thursday itself.
The leg-spinner who was in Rajasthan Royals in the previous season was bought by Punjab Kings (PBKS) for Rs 18 crore in the IPL 2025 auction.

Yuzvendra and Dhanashree got married in December 2020, and the reports of their separation started doing the rounds in December last year. Later, in January, the cricketer was linked up with RJ Mahvash. Both were seen enjoying matches in Dubai recently where the coveted Champions Trophy tournament was held.
Yuzvendra Chahal is not paying Rs 60 crore to Dhanshree Verma
There were even reports that Dhanashree has asked for an alimony of Rs. 60 crore from Yuzvendra. However, the reports turned out to be false. During these reports of their separation, divorce, and alimony, the ex-couple never spoke to media about it neither gave any statement.
A few days ago, Yuzvendra made it to the headlines once again for his rumoured relationship with Mahvash as the two were spotted together watching the ICC Champions Trophy finals. Not just that, reportedly, the rumoured couple were even clicked this morning before the cricketer came to the court. The pictures of the two have gone viral on social media.
Even though they are divorced now, neither Dhanashree nor Chahal has given any statement about it. So, let's see whether the ex-couple will speak about it or let the lawyers give the statement.
