Actress Janhvi Kapoor marked her debut on the red carpet of the coveted Cannes Film Festival 2025 as she attended the premiere of the film Homebound, in which she has a cameo. And while at it, she broke one of the major rules set by the film festival this year -- that of not wearing extravagant gowns with long trains.
The premiere of Homebound at Cannes was attended by director Neeraj Ghaywan, lead actors Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa, and producer Karan Johar. Janhvi paid tribute to her mother Sridevi in a custom Tarun Tahiliani ensemble with a long, dramatic train, and oozed desi royalty on the red carpet of Cannes with her ornate pearl jewellery.
While the Homebound team walked the red carpet, a sweet gesture by director Neeraj Ghaywan was captured by the paparazzi. The filmmaker was seen carrying Janhvi's long train in his hand, helping her to move freely on the red carpet.

Not just that, but Homebound received an international push by none other than legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese, who got on board the film as an executive producer.
The film revolves around two friends -- Ishaan and Vishal -- from a small North Indian village, who seek a police job that promises them the dignity that they were denied, but cracks develop in their friendship during their pursuit.
