Actor Shahid Kapoor, who is currently busy with the promotions of his upcoming film Deva, reacted to the news of attack on actor Saif Ali Khan, and stated that it was an unfortunate incident. And while at it, he was also seen schooling a journalist for not asking the question in a direct way.

During the trailer launch of Deva on Friday, a reporter asked Shahid what his character Deva would do in case of the rise in attacks on celebs in the city, hinting at the stabbing incident involving Saif.

To that, Shahid replied, "The incident that you are referring to is indeed sad. We all are concerned, the entire fraternity is concerned. Aap ne indirectly pucha, aap directly puchte toh jyada respectable lagta."

"We hope Saif's health is better, we hope he is feeling better. We all are very shocked over what has happened, that too in such a personal space," he added.

Addressing the concerns over law and order in the city, Shahid went on to say, "It is a very difficult thing to absorb, especially in a city like Mumbai. I’m sure the police are doing everything they can, as such incidents don't usually happen here. Mumbai is a very safe city, and you can proudly say that even at 2 or 3 am, if a family member or a woman is out on the road, it’s very safe. So, this incident is very shocking. We are hoping for his quick recovery and praying for him during this time."

For those unversed, Saif was injured after an intruder broke into his Bandra residence on January 16, Thursday, while the family was asleep, in an attempted robbery bid. When the actor intervened, the intruder attacked Saif and even stabbed him, and the actor was rushed to the hospital with six injuries.

A piece of knife was surgically removed from his back and he has been advised bed rest for a week. He will be discharged from the Lilavati Hospital by this weekend.
