Chhaava box office collection is surprising us. The film was expected to take a bumper opening at the box office, and that clearly happened. During its first weekend, the film collected Rs. 116.50 crore. Mostly, after a very good start, movies drop from Monday onwards, but the Vicky Kaushal starrer surprised one and all by collecting a fantastic amount on its day four.

The movie on its first Monday minted Rs. 24 crore which is an excellent number. With such an amazing Monday, we excepted that the movie will show a minimal drop on Tuesday or stay stable at the box office. But, Chhaava has once again surprised everyone as the collection on day five was better than day four.

According to Sacnilk, Chhaava on its first Tuesday collected Rs. 25.25 crore, taking the five-day total to Rs. 165.75 crore. Today, it is Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, a partial holiday, especially in Maharashtra. So, we can expect the film to show a jump at the box office, and the collection can go up to Rs. 27-28 crore, and if the response is exceptional, than we can expect it to reach the Rs. 30 crore mark as well.

For now, it looks like Chhaava by the end of week one will easily collect around Rs. 210-220 crore which is excellent. The movie is reportedly made on a budget of Rs. 130 crore, so it is already a hit, and if it continues to do well, it can become a blockbuster.

Chhaava is all set to surpass the lifetime collection of Bajirao Mastani. The Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Priyanka Chopra starrer had collected Rs. 184.30 crore at the box office. It also looks like the movie might surpass the lifetime collection of other period films like Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (Rs. 279.60 crore) and Padmaavat (Rs. 302.15 crore). But, let's wait and watch.
