Charlie Kirk Death: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chris Pratt, Jimmy Kimmel & Others React To Donald Trump's Ally's Assassination
Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, who has often been a sharp critic of Donald Trump, asked people to pause on the "angry finger-pointing" and called for compassion in the face of tragedy. Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger took to X to mourn Kirk's death and called it a "horrible tragedy"
Several Hollywood celebrities have reacted to the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who died at 31 after being shot during a college event at Utah Valley University. Kirk was the co-founder and CEO of Turning Point USA and a close ally of US President Donald Trump. He died instantly after a single gunshot struck his neck during the event.
Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, who has often been a sharp critic of Trump, asked people to pause on the "angry finger-pointing" and called for compassion in the face of tragedy.
Taking to his Instagram account, he wrote, "Instead of the angry finger-pointing, can we just, for one day, agree that it is horrible and monstrous to shoot another human? On behalf of my family, we send love to the Kirks and to all the children, parents, and innocents who fall victim to senseless gun violence."
Arnold Schwarzenegger took to X to mourn Kirk's death and called it a "horrible tragedy."
"My heart is with Charlie Kirk’s family, and with the United States. Politics has become a disease in this country, and it’s deadly. But don’t listen to the pessimists who say there is no cure. There is a cure. It is inside of us. We must find our better angels and walk back from the extremes. If we can’t agree on anything else, we must find agreement that we don’t solve our debates with violence," he wrote.
The Commando actor added, "This is a horrible tragedy. May it also be a moment for everyone to rediscover their humanity."
Actor-film producer Chris Pratt wrote on X, "Praying for Charlie Kirk right now, for his wife and young children, for our country. We need God’s grace. God help us."
Actress Savannah Chrisley, Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley's daughter, took to her Instagram and wrote, "I am devastated... I don't have words. PRAY! PRAY! PRAY."
Media reports state that Kirk was shot in the neck during a debate at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. He was rushed to the hospital by security personnel but succumbed to his injuries.
Former President Donald Trump was the first to announce his death.
Utah Valley University later confirmed that investigators are still trying to track down the shooter. The probe now involves multiple agencies, including the Orem Police Department, the university’s police force, the FBI, and the Utah Department of Public Safety.
