Promoting his highly anticipated solo album Echo, BTS' Seokjin, aka Jin, made a much-awaited appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on May 21, and let’s just say ARMY got more than what they expected.
Jin performs Don’t Say You Love Me on the Tonight Show
Jin lit up the stage with the live performance of Don’t Say You Love Me, the emotional title track from Echo. But this wasn’t your average late-night set. In true Jin fashion, the performance took place on a giant bed – yes, a massive bed – right in the middle of the stage. The ambience created a warm, intimate setting that visually reflected the theme of the song.
As Jin and his band stood atop the oversized bed, the soft lighting and dreamy vibe only heightened the bittersweet feel of the breakup anthem. The song dives into the emotional complexities of a relationship on the verge, where love lingers despite the inevitable goodbye. As the final note hit, the studio audience erupted into applause, confirming once again that Jin knows how to deliver a moment.
Jin takes over Jimmy Fallon's desk
Post-performance, Jin brought his signature wit and charm to the interview couch and quickly made himself at home. In a playful twist, he even hopped behind Jimmy Fallon’s desk and jokingly took over the role of host.
Taking Jimmy’s seat with mock seriousness, Jin began the mock interview by asking, “You’ve been doing this for a long time; what’s it like being number one?” Jimmy, smiling, replied, “Thank you, I like these kinds of questions.” The hilarity continued when Jin cheekily asked, “Are you a superstar?” to which Jimmy quipped, “No, not as big as you. I try one day; I just need five more Grammy nominations,” while holding up the cover of Echo for the camera.

But the most viral moment came when Jin threw the audience a curveball: “Do we have one butt or two?” After a confused pause, Jimmy replied, “One.” Jin, clearly prepared with his reasoning, disagreed: “It’s a left side and a right side, left and right, so two!” The crowd burst into laughter, and Fallon just shook his head in amused disbelief.
