Bengaluru Police Reaches Sonu Nigam's Mumbai House In Connection With Kannada Song Row, To Record Video Statement
The Bengaluru Police is all set to record singer Sonu Nigam's statement at his Mumbai residence days after he was booked for refusing to sing a Kannada song at an event and likening the incident with the Pahalgam attack. A team of Bengaluru Police is expected to interrogate the singer on Sunday and his statement will be recorded on video.

The Bengaluru Police is all set to record singer Sonu Nigam's statement at his Mumbai residence days after he was booked for refusing to sing a Kannada song at an event and likening the incident with the Pahalgam attack. A team of Bengaluru Police is expected to interrogate the singer on Sunday.
According to IANS, the Bengaluru police team includes an inspector from Avalahalli police station and two other officers. They will reportedly meet Sonu at his Mumbai residence and record his statement on video in connection with the FIR filed against him in Bengaluru.
The interrogation will be carried out as per the guidelines laid out by the Karnataka High Court.
A few days ago, the Karnataka High Court had instructed that no "coercive action" should be taken against the singer as long as he cooperates with the police. The court also stayed the filing of the final report in the case.

It all began after Sonu performed at East Point College of Engineering and Technology, Bengaluru, on April 25, and during his concert, he refused to sing a song in Kannada despite multiple requests by a fan.
The singer later stated that the young boy was "rudely threatening" him to sing in Kannada, and added, "Yahi kaaran hai, Pahalgam mein jo hua hai na. Yahi kaaran hai jo kar rahe ho, jo kiya tha na abhi. Dekho toh kaun saamne khada hai."
