Avneet Kaur Recalls Director Verbally Abused Her On Set When She Was Only 12: 'He Broke My Confidence, Said I'll Never Succeed'

Actress Avneet Kaur recently opened up about a disturbing incident from her childhood, revealing how a director verbally abused her on set when she was just 11 or 12 years old. The young actress, who started her career in the entertainment industry at the age of eight, shared that the incident shattered her self-confidence as an actor.
Recalling the traumatic experience, Avneet revealed that she was given a difficult monologue with heavy words, and when she struggled with it, the director lost his temper.
During a conversation with Hautterfly, Avneet, without taking any names, revealed, "This director gave me a very heavy monologue with heavy words, which I had to say. Now, I was very scared because I was 11 or 12, and I fumbled 2-3 times. That’s when he switched on his mic and started speaking harshly. He said that I wasn’t capable of doing anything and that I would never succeed in this industry. He even abused me verbally."

She further shared that she felt helpless as her parents were not allowed on set. "I was very confused because my parents were not allowed on set. I went to my parents and told them everything, and my self-confidence broke as an actor," Avneet added.
Avneet also revealed that during her initial years in showbiz, she encountered situations that made her feel uncomfortable and insecure. From being inappropriately touched during rehearsals to facing harsh criticism at a young age, the actress stated that these incidents left a lasting impact on her.
"Once, during dance rehearsals, there was a spot or someone who touched here and there. At the time, I told my mother about it and she explained good and bad touch to me. Since then, I was well prepared for such things," Avneet said during the interview.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Avneet, who has appeared in a couple of films and several television shows, will be seen next in Love in Vietnam. According to media reports, she is also a part of Tom Cruise's Hollywood film, Mission: Impossible – The Final Recording.
