Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor wrote a letter to his 26-year-old self as he completed 13 years in the Hindi film industry on Sunday (May 11). Alongside stills from his debut film Ishaqzaade and a few emotional throwback photos, Arjun shared the letter on social media.
He wrote, "Dear 26-year-old Arjun, you did it. You are standing at the edge of impossible. A dream that once felt. I know how many nights you stayed up, watching films, believing somehow that cinema would be your escape, your purpose. You also worked hard to transform - not just your body, but your mind, your spirit."
"The hours, the discipline, the setbacks... they were all worth it. Stay humble. Stay hungry. And never forget - this journey began with a bullied kid who simply loved movies too much to give up. With love and pride, Arjun 2.0," the actor added.
Arjun also reflected on how his passion for cinema helped shape him over the years. In the caption, he wrote, "The boy who loved films became the man who lives for them. ♥️ Marked 13 years of Ishaqzaade yesterday -grateful, grounded, growing. 🙏🏽🧿🤗 #13YearsOfIshaqzaade #Arjun2PointO."
Arjun, who started his career with Ishaqzaade opposite Parineeti Chopra, quickly became one of Bollywood’s rising stars. Over the years, he has been part of films like 2 States, Ki & Ka, Gunday, Namaste England, Panipat, Mubarakan, Singham Again and Mere Husband Ki Biwi.
He has often opened up about his transformation, both physical and emotional.
In his debut film Ishaqzaade, Arjun portrayed the role of Parma Chauhan, a hot-headed and rebellious young man from a conservative political family in a small town in Uttar Pradesh. Parma is impulsive, aggressive, and influenced by his family's patriarchal and communal values.
The film explored the intense and volatile relationship between Parma and Zoya Qureshi, played by Parineeti, who comes from a rival political family. Arjun's performance in the film was praised for its raw energy, screen presence, and emotional depth.
