The Waves Summit 2025 kicked off with a star-studded start at Mumbai's Jio World Centre on May 1, as Allu Arjun lit up the stage with his presence and perspective. Joining the conversation on Day 1 of the summit, the Pushpa star shared his thoughts on the global rise of Indian cinema and gave fans a glimpse into his exciting upcoming project with director Atlee during a panel titled 'Talent Beyond Borders'.
Allu Arjun X Atlee's AA22xA6: What to expect?
During the panel discussion, Arjun discussed his next big project along with acclaimed filmmaker Atlee, best known for his pan-India hit Jawan. The movie, tentatively titled AA22xA6, will mark their first collaboration and Arjun's 22nd film. While specific plot details are under wraps, Arjun shared that the project promises to bring a fresh cinematic experience to Indian audiences.
Talking about the partnership, he said, "I really liked the idea that he told me, and I like his aspirations. I felt we were like-minded on many levels. We hope to bring a very new visual spectacle to Indian cinema. It will be a very international presentation with total Indian sensibilities."
Arjun's vision of taking Indian cinema global: 'I believe in pushing the boundaries'
Further, during the session, the South superstar passionately articulated his vision for the future of Indian cinema on the global map. Reflecting on the country's cinematic journey through decades, he highlighted the untapped potential of Indian films on the world stage.
Arjun stated, "With all due respect to every other film industry in the world, whether it is Hollywood films, Korean films, Iranian films, or Chinese films, everybody has had an impact on global box office. We have such a big film industry and we’ve been there for so many decades. But we never had a serious impact on the global box office. I feel it’s just about time… India is getting there. We, as a country, are growing and in the coming years, Indian film industry will make a global mark."

Further elaborating on his goals, the actor added, "I believe in pushing the boundaries; I believe in taking our Indian cinema to the global level. Very soon, in the coming years, Indian film industry, Indian industry and we as a country will make a global mark not just in this industry but cutting across every other industry. I'm a firm believer of that."
