Actor Jonathan Joss Dies In Shooting Outside His Texas House After Verbal Altercation; Suspect Arrested

Jonathan Joss, best known for voicing John Redcorn on the animated series King of the Hill, died at the age of 59 following a fatal shooting in San Antonio. According to media reports, police confirmed that officers were dispatched to a shooting in progress around 7 pm on Sunday (June 1). Upon arrival, they found Joss lying near the road, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Despite officers administering life-saving measures until medics arrived, Joss was pronounced dead at the scene.
Reportedly, the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle but was apprehended just a block away.
According to TMZ, the 59-year-old actor was involved in a verbal altercation with the suspect, identified as 37-year-old Sigfredo Alvarez-Cega, when the confrontation turned violent.
The report stated that according to the San Antonio Police Department and eyewitness accounts, Alvarez-Cega drew a firearm during the dispute and shot Joss multiple times. After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, triggering a citywide manhunt.
Officers received a detailed description of Alvarez-Cega's vehicle and located him just a block from the scene shortly after the shooting. He was taken into custody without incident and has since been charged with murder. His bond has been set at $200,000 (Rs 1.7 crore).
