The movie has mostly received negative reviews from the critics, and it has also failed to impress the audience. Vijay Sethupathi was last seen in Viduthalai Part 2 which was released in December 2024. Now, the actor is back on the big screens with the movie Ace which is heist comedy. It also stars Yogi Babu and Rukmini Vasanth. While the trailer of the film had grabbed everyone's attention, the film has failed to impress the netizens. Ace has received mostly negative reviews from the audience on X (Twitter).

A netizen tweeted, "Vijay Sethupathi and yogi Babu is comedies good Movie is very slow and lag Comedy is good (sic)." Another X user tweeted, "A lethargic & unenergetic vijay sethupathi in #Ace w his lifeless stunts adds 0 thrill to an already predictable storyline. only thing that excited me was the cameo in the end, truly a star (sic)."

Ace has taken a slow start at the box office, and looking at the current trend it looks like the movie might collect around Rs. 2 crore at the box office on day 1 which is quite a low start. So, let's wait and watch, if the movie will show a jump at the box office on Saturday and Sunday or not.
