Aavan Jaavan Song Review: Despite 5 Liplocks Between Kiara Advani-Hrithik Roshan & An Elaborate Bikini Scene, This War 2 Song Is Easily Forgettable

The first song from the highly-anticipated film, War 2, was unveiled by the makers on Thursday, aiming to give the fans a peek into the exotic romance in the film. Titled Aavan Jaavan, the song features Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani touristing across exotic European locations, and though it had all the ingredients of a Bollywood banger, the one major thing that was missing in the song was the chemistry between the two actors.

Sung by Arijit Singh and Nikhita Gandhi, Aavan Jaavan sounds like old wine in a new bottle. Despite being vibrant and fashionable visually, the song leaves you with a rather underwhelming feeling.

You literally have Hrithik for an entire song, so why would you not make him dance? Kiara, who has impressed the audience earlier as well with her dancing skills, had too little to do in the track, except for looking pretty and recording her candid moments with Hrithik.

Of course, there is the infamous bikini scene of Kiara, in which the actress' body is seen applying sunscreen for straight 30 seconds, and it has been captured from almost every angle possible, to the point that it feels the makers were trying too hard to make it the crux of the song.

Another highlight of the song has to be the ample kissing scenes between Hrithik and Kiara. Not one, not two... Five. But even those five scenes could not give us a sliver of chemistry between the two stars.

So, the makers had the 'Greek God' Hrithik, one of the top actresses of the current generation -- Kiara, the biggest singer of the country at present -- Arijit Singh, the most beautiful locations and a hefty budget at their perusal, and yet they managed to create Aavan Jaavan, which is an easily-forgettable number.

If only they would have taken some cues from the songs in the original War (2019), and how those songs -- be it Jai Jai Shivshankar or Ghungroo -- make it to ever Bollywood lover's playlist even after six years... But, alas! That ship has sailed.

Besides Hrithik and Kiara, War 2 also stars Jr NTR, who will be seen playing the antagonist in the film. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film is set to hit the silver screens on Independence Day.
