The Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) - CAPF (ACs) Examination 2025 schedule has been released by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). 357 Assistant Commandants in five central paramilitary formations under the Ministry of Home Affairs will be recruited through the exam.
CAPF (ACs) 2025: Exam Timetable
The official schedule has been released for the CAPF (Assistant Commandants) 2025 exam. According to the notice, the test will take place on Sunday, August 3, 2025.
The first test, General Ability and Intelligence (Paper Code: 01), will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and will have multiple-choice questions. From 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, students will work on the second paper, General Studies, Essay & Comprehension (Paper Code: 02), which will be written or descriptive.
Applicants must completely follow the Indian Standard Time (IST) and the reporting rules that are written on their admission cards. Applicants who show up late will not be able to take the test again, no matter what.
CAPF 2025: Vacancy details
A total of 357 positions have been proposed throughout the following paramilitary forces:
1. Border Security Force (BSF): 24
2. Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF): 204
3. Central Industrial Security Force (CISF): 92
4. Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP): 4
5. Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB): 33
6. Total: 357
UPSC CAPF Exam 2025: Selection Process
There will be three stages to the UPSC CAPF (Assistant Commandants) Examination in 2025.
Stage 1: The first level is a written test consisting of two papers: Paper I (General Ability and Intelligence), which is objective in nature, and Paper II (General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension), which is descriptive.
Note: Aspirants must pass both papers separately to advance to the next step.
Stage 2: The Physical Standards Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and Medical Examination are open to applicants who complete the written exam. These examinations are designed to examine applicants' physical fitness and general medical eligibility for duty in the uniformed forces.
Stage 3: Those who pass both the written and physical rounds will proceed to the last level, the Interview or Personality Test. This stage will assess the applicant's leadership abilities, judgement, and general personality traits appropriate for the post of Assistant Commandant.
Note: The final merit list will be compiled using the combined marks from the written examination and the interview/personality test.
