Supreme Court Dismisses Plea Challenging NEET UG 2025 Result, Final Answer Key; Allows Counselling To Continue

NEET UG 2025 Result: The Supreme Court has rejected a NEET UG 2025 candidate's petition for corrections to the final answer key and for a revision of results. The appeal, moved by Shivam Gandhi Raina against the National Testing Agency (NTA), alleged an error in Question No. 136 of Code No. 47 of the NEET UG 2025 question paper, according to the Live Law report.

The petitioner asked the Court to scrutinise the final answer key, correct the result in accordance with it, and suspend the counselling process that was in progress. He contended that the supposed error could have an effect on not just his rank but on many other students as well.

A bench of Justices PS Narasimha and R Mahadevan, however, refused to interfere. The Court made it clear that it could not correct the result of a national-level test on the basis of one complaint, though the issue raised may have seemed valid.

While presenting the case at the hearing, Senior Advocate R. Balasubramanium, on behalf of the petitioner, relied on the NEET UG 2024 case when the Court had intervened after there were widespread grievances. He said that even a one-mark deviation might change the future of thousands of students and requested the Court to constitute an expert committee to examine the issue.

Replying to the submission, Justice Narasimha made clear that the situation regarding NEET UG 2024 was quite different. The Court's interference last year was because of systemic flaws and massive irregularities, which is not present this time.

In conclusion, the Court rejected the plea, maintaining the integrity of the examination process and permitting the NEET UG 2025 counselling to go ahead as scheduled.
