SSC to Re-Conduct Phase XIII Exam for 55,000 Candidates on August 29
According to the SSC notification, the Staff Selection Commission will re-conduct the Selection Posts/Phase XIII Exam, 2025, for approximately 55,000 candidates on August 29, 2025. This decision comes after technical disruptions were reported during the Computer Based Examination (CBE) held from July 24 to August 2, 2025, across 194 exam centres nationwide.
The SSC, following the Hon’ble Supreme Court's directive in WP (Civil) 234 of 2018, had implemented a revised CBE model in 2025, introducing Aadhaar authentication for both candidates and exam functionaries to curb impersonation and exam malpractice. Out of 11.50 lakh applicants, over 5.50 lakh candidates appeared in the exam at Matric, Higher Secondary, and Graduate levels.
During the exams, technical and operational issues affected several candidates. While many were rescheduled into subsequent shifts through August 1, an additional 8,000 candidates took the test on August 2 across three extra shifts. However, further analysis of exam logs revealed data gaps for about 55,000 candidates, prompting the Commission to offer them another chance to appear for the test, as per the notification.
These candidates will receive communication via their registered email and mobile numbers, and can download their admit cards from August 26, 2025. According to the notification, test centres will be allotted based on candidates' city preferences submitted earlier. Importantly, their previous test attempts will be disregarded, and only the performance on August 29 will be considered.
