NISM, SEBI Launch National Financial Literacy Quiz 2025; IIM Bodhgaya, IIM Calcutta Win East Zone Rounds

The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) and the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) have launched the 'National Financial Literacy Quiz 2025' for undergraduate and postgraduate institutes across the country as part of their broader advocacy efforts to strengthen financial literacy in the student community. The programme aims to spread awareness about financial markets, investor rights, and the role of market intermediaries. Around 2,50,000 students from all over India participated in an online quiz in the first stage of the competition

Sashi Krishnan, director, NISM, said, "Financial knowledge is an essential life skill. By engaging with young learners through initiatives like NFLQ, NISM is striving to nurture a more informed, confident and responsible generation.”     

Sanjay Sarwade, chief general manager and director of the eastern regional office, SEBI, said, “Financial literacy is not just about money, it is about empowering yourself with knowledge to make informed decisions.”

In the first regional rounds, Indian Institute of Management, Bodhgaya, won the first prize in the undergraduate category. Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, won the second rank, and Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration, Kolkata, stood third. In the postgraduate category, Indian Institute of Management,  Calcutta, won the first prize, St. Xaviers College (Autonomous), Kolkata, and Xavier Business School, St. Xavier's University, Kolkata, won the second and third respectively.
