NEET MDS 2025: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reduced the qualifying cut-off percentile of the NEET MDS 2025 exam, in turn making more students eligible for admissions to postgraduate dental courses. The cut-off percentile is lowered by 19.863 points in every category, namely General, SC, ST, OBC, and UR-PWD.
According to the new criteria, the General (UR/EWS) cut-off percentile has been lowered from 50 to 30.137, and the new cut-off score is now 197 (previously 261). For SC/ST/OBC, the cut-off percentage has been lowered from 40 to 20.137, reducing the cut-off score from 227 to 168. Likewise, for General-PwD candidates, the cut-off has been reduced from 45 to 25.137 percentile, and the revised score is 182.
Although the cut-off score has been altered, there is no candidate rank revision as announced by NBEMS on May 15. NEET MDS was held on April 19, and the last date to get the compulsory internship has been kept at June 30 as announced by the Dental Council of India (DCI).
With the new cut-off, a greater number of students are now eligible for MDS counselling, and the MCC is likely to re-open the registration portal shortly. Candidates are requested to keep visiting the official website of MCC (mcc.nic.in) regularly for information on the new counselling schedule.
