In an effort to make quality education more accessible, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is providing free Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) on the SWAYAM platform for students of Class 11 and 12 for the 2025 academic session. The MOOCs are aimed at filling the gaps in learning and ensuring equal opportunities for education in India.

Being the nationally appointed Coordinator of school-level MOOCs (Classes 9–12), NCERT's role is to create interactive courses that will be in sync with the national curriculum. Learners can access these resources both via the SWAYAM website and mobile app, and learning becomes flexible and accessible from anywhere.

Every course is designed to provide comprehensive and interactive learning. Students can enjoy video lessons from experienced teachers, downloadable reading material for offline access, and self-evaluation tools like quizzes and assignments. Moreover, discussion forums enable students to interact, clear queries, and learn collaboratively.

No registration fee is taken for these courses, and students who pass the final exam will qualify to obtain a course completion certificate.

-Enrolment for Courses Opens: April 16, 2025

-Courses Start: May 1, 2025

Through this initiative, NCERT plans to provide students from all walks of life—urban or rural—to access high-quality, uniform education at their own convenience.
