A government school teacher in Madhya Pradesh’s Katni district has been suspended after a disturbing video surfaced online, allegedly showing him offering alcohol to minor students. He was a teacher at a government primary school in Khirhani village, located in the Barwara block.
According to the PTI reports, the teacher, identified as Lal Naveen Pratap Singh, was seen in the video pouring liquor into cups and handing them to young boys. At one point, he can be heard instructing a student to mix water before consuming the drink.
After the video went viral, Katni District Collector Dilip Kumar Yadav took swift action and directed District Education Officer OP Singh to investigate. Singh was suspended the same day under the MP Civil Services (Conduct) Rules for serious misconduct, promoting alcohol consumption among minors, and violating the ethical standards of the teaching profession.
Officials confirmed the suspension and emphasised that strict action would follow to maintain the sanctity of educational institutions, as per the PTI reports.
