Mumbai: Nagpur boy Mrunal Vairagade emerged as the topper from Maharashtra as he scored a 300/300 in the JEE Main exams making him the sole 100 percentiler from the state.
The student’s testament to his goal is evident in his determination to reach classes on time despite it being a 12 km long journey. Not having an adequate public transport did not deter this topper.
“My father used to drop me daily on his motorbike from Kharbi to Dharampeth which was 10-12 kms away from my home. I used to attend my classes at 8 AM and leave from there only by 8 PM,” stated Mrunal, who used to finish most of his homework during the class itself.
Mrunal, a student from Allen institute, didn’t take part in any extracurricular activities during the exam and had to compromise on his hobby of drawing to completely dedicate his time and energy to exam prep.
“Time management was an issue that I dealt with and mastered by taking different tests,” added Mrunal.
Like many of his peers Mrunal also wishes to get into IIT Bombay and pursue Computer Science.
“Not everybody has to give up on their hobbies while studying for the exam but they need to be sure that their activities are not time consuming,” stated Mrunal.
