Jails Turn Classrooms As Prisoners Achieve 96% Pass Rate In UP Class 12 Board Exams 2025
UP Board Results 2025: 96.81% of prisoners who appeared for the UP Board Class 12 exams have passed. Agra, Lucknow, Rampur, and Bareilly jails reported a perfect 100% result. High Schools results also impressed, with 86.67% of inmates clearing the Class 10 exams across 32 prisons.

UP Board Results 2025: In a remarkable display of perseverance and dedication, 91 out of 94 prisoners who turned up for the Uttar Pradesh Board Class 12 examinations have passed, achieving an excellent pass percentage of 96.81%.
The results, announced by the UP Board on Friday, reflected the excellence of prisoners across 32 prisons in the state. At the forefront was Agra Central Jail, where every one of its 17 examinees who attempted the Intermediate (Class 12) exam succeeded. The same success stories also unfolded in the other jails - Lucknow (8 examinees), Rampur (5), and Bareilly (9), each with a 100% pass rate.
While the Intermediate exam results were the talk of the town, the results of prisoners in the High School (Class 10) exams were also impressive, albeit slightly less so. Out of the 105 prisoners who appeared, 91 passed, which accounted for a pass percentage of 86.67%.
Both Varanasi and Ghaziabad jails amongst High School contestants witnessed flawless performances where all 10 inmates succeeded in clearing the exam. Slightly lower figures were noted for Agra and Bareilly prisons 16 of 21 cleared in Agra, 9 of 13 in Bareilly, as reported by news agency PTI.
UP Board Results 2025 Highlights
This year's UP Board results once again reinforce the academic superiority of female students over their male counterparts. The total pass percentage of Class 10 is a staggering 90.11%, whereas Class 12 has a marginally lower but still impressive 81.15%. Girls have excelled at both levels. During the high school exams, they registered a superb 93.87% success rate, which far surpassed that of boys, who managed 86.66%. The difference in performance became even greater at the Intermediate level—girls logged a success rate of 86.37%, while boys attained 76.60%.
