IIT Delhi Launches Advanced Certificate Programme In Generative AI

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has announced the launch of its Certificate Programme in Generative AI under its Continuing Education Programme (CEP). In order to close India's growing AI talent gap and promote technical innovation and industry leadership, this six-month advanced program aims to give professionals comprehensive artificial intelligence skills.

By 2030, AI may boost the world economy by $15.7 trillion, more than the combined present GDP of China and India, according to PwC. Adoption of generative AI holds similarly significant promise for India's economic progress.

About the programme

The Certificate Program in Generative AI provides a thorough exploration of cutting-edge AI techniques, emphasising Large Language Models (LLMs) like GPT, BERT, and T5. Students will investigate cutting-edge topics such as Vision-Language Models (VLMs), Reinforcement Learning with Human Feedback (RLHF), and responsible AI deployment. Mathematical Foundations for Machine Learning, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Generative AI for Text, Generative AI for Vision, and Responsible AI are among the six specialist courses covered in the curriculum.

Speaking on the launch, Professor Tanmoy Chakraborty, Rajiv Khemani Young Faculty Chair Professor in AI, Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, Yardi School of Artificial Intelligence, IIT Delhi said, “The Certificate Programme in Generative AI equips professionals with future-ready skills, enabling India to emerge as a global AI hub.As AI reshapes the industrial landscape, modern technologies must be implemented to boost efficiency and drive meaningful change. Generative AI, with its transformative potential, will redefine the future of work.”

In addition to learning how to use cutting-edge tools like Python, NumPy, Pandas, PyTorch, and TensorFlow, learners will also receive practical experience with NLP tools like NLTK and spaCy for effective data processing. This curriculum will prepare students for high-demand positions such as Generative AI Specialist, NLP Engineer/Scientist, Data Scientist with Generative AI Expertise, AI Research Scientist, and Machine Learning Engineer. Applications of Gen AI are found in a wide range of industries, including healthcare, finance, education, and autonomous systems, where a number of AI-driven advancements are anticipated to open up a plethora of new options.

The program, which includes case studies, simulations, projects, and assignments that are pertinent to the industry, will be given through live online interactive sessions in a Direct-to-Device (D2D) format. Additionally, students will receive firsthand knowledge of IIT Delhi's academic and research eminence through a unique one-day campus immersion.
