In another new case of suspected spying, a 25-year-old Haryana student has been arrested for allegedly passing on sensitive military details to Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). This is the second such arrest in the state in a week, with concerns growing at the increasing number of such cases in the region.

Student from Patiala College Arrested in Kaithal

The accused, Devendra Singh Dhillon, is a Master’s student in political science at Khalsa College, Patiala. He was arrested by police on May 12 in Kaithal, Haryana, after authorities noticed he had uploaded images of pistols and guns to his Facebook account.

Visit to Pakistan via Kartarpur Corridor Revealed

During interrogation, Dhillon disclosed that he had travelled to Pakistan in November 2024 through the Kartarpur Corridor. Investigators believe he was in direct contact with ISI agents and was passing along sensitive details, including images of the Patiala military cantonment, according to the NDTV reports.

Financial Links Under Investigation

Officials have stated that Pakistani intelligence operatives allegedly spent a considerable amount of money to cultivate Dhillon’s cooperation. His phone has been seized for forensic analysis, and investigators are examining his bank records to trace any suspicious transactions.
