On January 3, the Department of Education (DoE) of the Delhi government will close admissions for candidates vying for available seats. The deadline for parents to upload their admissions information is tomorrow. Parents who wish to enrol their children in Delhi's private, independent, accredited schools for nursery, kindergarten, and first grade must go through the Delhi nursery admissions process.
Important dates:
First list release: January 17
Query window: January 18-27
Second list: February 3
Query window for second list: February 5-11
Age eligibility:
The heads of schools have the authority to provide an age relaxation of up to 30 days for pupils who are only a little bit older than the minimum or maximum age requirement for their classes. Parents who wish to request such an exception must go straight to the principals or heads of the schools and fill out a manual application.
This simplified admissions procedure meets the needs of various urban groups while guaranteeing openness and accessibility.
Government regulations provide that children from economically disadvantaged groups (DG), children with disabilities, and children from economically weaker sections (EWS) are entitled to 25% of places in private schools. Students in these categories will have their own admissions list.
