CBSE National Teacher Award 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has invited self-nominations for the National Teacher Award 2025 to reward outstanding teachers and principals working in CBSE-affiliated private independent schools. The deadline for making nominations will be July 6, 2025. Candidates interested in applying will have to make their applications online only on the official website of CBSE at cbseit.in/cbse/2025/tchawrd/register.aspx.

Eligibility Criteria

For consideration for the award:

- Teachers should have served for a minimum of 10 continuous years in schools recognised by any board as of March 31, 2025.

- Principals should have at least 10 years of work experience as a teacher and 5 years as a principal in a school affiliated with CBSE. Retiring teachers (on or after March 31, 2025) are also eligible.

- Only one category of application can be submitted by applicants, and principals cannot apply for the teacher position.

Application Process

Applicants will have to upload the following files in PDF format:

- A signed declaration attesting to the truthfulness of the provided details

- Recommendation letters and service certificates authorized by the school manager

- Academic certificates from Class 10 up to post-graduation

- Records of student performance in board or school-level examinations

- All the documents should be re-verified by the head of the school (for the teachers) or school manager (for the principals).

Selection Process

Applications will be assessed according to:

- Length of service

- Academic qualifications

- Performance in tests

- Age and other considerations

A merit list will be created, and shortlisting will be done for the top 24 candidates. For a tie, additional evaluation criteria will be taken into consideration. The shortlisted candidates will be given two days to upload re-verified documents.

The last phase includes an interaction round with a National Level Scrutiny Committee, following which six awardees shall be shortlisted for the honour. CBSE has sent a request to all school heads to inform concerned staff members and ensure timely application submission.
