CBSE Class 10, 12 Board Exams 2025 Begin; Over 44 Lakh Students Appear Across 8,000 Centres

Mumbai: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) commences the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations for 2025 on 15 February, with approximately 44 lakh students set to appear across 8,000 centres in India.

According to the CBSE 2025 date sheet, Class 10 students will begin with the English (Communicative) and English (Language and Literature) papers, scheduled from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Meanwhile, Class 12 students will sit for the entrepreneurship examination on the same day. The board has structured the schedule to ensure adequate gaps between papers, allowing students ample time for preparation.

To facilitate the smooth conduct of examinations, CBSE organised a live webcast on its official YouTube channel on 14 February. The session provided essential guidelines for centre superintendents, deputy superintendents, assistant superintendents, city coordinators, and observers, outlining their responsibilities and the evaluation procedures to be followed.

In a bid to uphold the integrity of the examinations, CBSE had recently reinforced its regulations against unfair practices. Under its ‘unfair means rules’, students found in possession of prohibited items, such as electronic communication devices, within the examination hall will face stringent penalties, including the cancellation of their current and subsequent year’s board examinations.

The board has stressed the importance of strict adherence to the list of permitted items, which includes only essential materials such as admit cards, pens, and simple analogue watches. Additionally, comprehensive physical frisking measures will be implemented at all examination centres to ensure compliance with these regulations.
