Mumbai: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday released the schedule for Class X and Class XII 2025 board exams. While both the secondary school examination (Class X) as well as the senior school certificate exams (Class XII) will commence on February 15, 2025, the former will conclude on March 18th and the latter on April 4th.
Class X board exams will have English as the first subject and for Class XII, it will be the Physics paper that’ll start the examinations on February 15. The examination for both classes will be held in a single shift- from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm.
Once uploaded, candidates can check the full date sheet from the board’s official website: cbse.gov.in. For the first time, CBSE has released the date sheets nearly 86 days ahead of the start of the examinations. Compared to 2024, the dates sheets for 2025 have been issued 23 days earlier, offering students more time to plan and prepare.
Over 44 lakh eligible candidates will appear for the Class X and Class XII board exams in 2025 which will be held at more than 8,000 schools in India and abroad.
The schedule ensures minimal overlaps between subject exams, allowing students adequate preparation time for consecutive tests, the board said in a press release issued on Wednesday.
“The date of conduct of entrance examinations meant for the students of Class XII have been taken into consideration and efforts have been made to complete the examinations much before the entrance examinations. This will help the students in better time management for both Board and entrance examinations,” the press release issued by the CBSE added.
CBSE further said that core subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English are well-spaced, while elective subjects are evenly distributed to reduce stress among the students. The date sheet considers festivals and significant holidays to minimise clashes, ensuring convenience for students across different classes, the CBSE added.
