Following the declaration of the CBSE Class 12 results on May 13, top-performing students from Narayana Schools have stepped forward to share their success stories and preparation strategies, inspiring future aspirants. Among them are Reyansh Devnani and Vakhin S, two standout students from Bengaluru, who excelled in the Science stream by scoring an impressive 495 out of 500 marks in the board exams.
Structured Planning and Rigorous Preparation
Reyansh Devnani, who scored 99% in the CBSE class 12th Science stream, emphasised the importance of consistency and planning. "I strictly followed the school system. Our schedule was well-structured, and daily targets kept me on track," he said. His preparation involved constant revision from NCERT, the institute's Micro Schedule, Final Boosters, and weekly assignments. Regular grand tests were instrumental in identifying weak areas, which he strengthened through error analysis and practising the previous year's question papers.
Another high scorer Vakhin S, who scored 99% from C.V. Raman Bhavan campus, who used the institute's NLearn platform for mock tests and revision, said, “My target was one volume a day. I studied in the mornings and evenings and made separate notes for key concepts and formulas for last-minute revision.”
Tackling Tough Subjects with Support and Persistence
Both students highlighted the importance of not skipping difficult topics. With access to dedicated teachers and digital resources, they were able to overcome academic hurdles. “Whenever I struggled with a concept, I used video lectures and attended regular doubt-clearing sessions,” said Reyansh Devnani.
His peer echoed the same: “If I didn’t understand something, I approached my teachers, who were always ready to explain or re-teach the topic. Repetition and consistent effort were key.”
Managing Stress with Yoga, Meditation, and Mentoring
The high-pressure environment of board exams often leads to stress, but the students credit the institute's holistic approach for helping them stay calm. “We had yoga sessions and motivational talks. Whenever I felt anxious, I reached out to our Dean Nagaraju Sir, who always encouraged us,” Reyansh Devnani.
Vakhin S initially struggled with anxiety but overcame it with deep breathing and meditation techniques. “My teacher guided me to start meditating, and it really helped me stay focused during the exams,” he shared.
Avoiding Common Mistakes
Both students took extra care to avoid common exam mistakes. "Presentation matters. I made sure my answers were neat and precise," said Reyansh Devnani. The other stressed the importance of reading every question carefully and double-checking answers to avoid any errors.
Aspirations for the Future
With eyes set firmly on the future, both students aspire to join the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). While one hopes to pursue Computer Science and specialize in R&D, the other dreams of becoming an IITian and is actively preparing for JEE Advanced.
