December 2025 is the extended deadline to apply for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). For affordable housing support, this extension will give eligible urban and rural households additional time to register.

Income group, housing status, and social background are the determinants of eligibility for PMAY.

PMAY is the center's flagship housing scheme that aims to provide pucca homes to lower-income groups (LIG), economically weaker sections (EWS), and other disadvantaged communities in both urban and rural areas.
