OpenAI's Sam Altman Reacts DeepSeek Frenzy, Says Will Up The Game In Time To Come

DeepSeek, the Chinese AI system, has taken the world by storm, and broken the shackles of American dominance in Artificial Intelligence and chatbots.

The system reportedly can perform at almost the same proficiency as its American rivals, including OpenAI's ChatGPT. All this, using fewer advanced semiconductor chips and a lesser amount of data than what is required by its American counterparts.
OpenAI, DeepSeek's biggest competitor has now reacted to this development.
In a post on X, Altman acknowledged and commended the capabilities of the system. He said the following in his post, "deepseek's r1 is an impressive model, particularly around what they're able to deliver for the price."

Pushing the ante, he said, "We will obviously deliver much better models and also it's legit invigorating to have a new competitor! we will pull up some releases."
Furthermore he added, "but mostly we are excited to continue to execute on our research roadmap and believe more computing is more important now than ever before to succeed at our mission.
the world is going to want to use a LOT of ai, and really be quite amazed by the next gen models coming."
Signalling what lies in the future, Altman said that he is looking forward to bringing all AGI and beyond.
The Chaos At Wall Street
Earlier led to a major debacle at Wall Street with shares of the likes of Nvidia, Microsoft and AMD, some of the key players involved in the AI business dwindle significantly.
Nvidia lost over USD 500 billion in its market cap. The Nasdaq index lost over 3 per cent of its value in the intraday trade.
Meanwhile, many billionaires like Nvidia's Jensen Huang and Oracle's Larry Ellison, along with Google founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, all saw their personal net worths decline monumentally in just a matter of a day.
