Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has warned that Donald Trump’s new trade tariffs could hurt the US economy badly. Musk said that these tariffs might even cause a recession in the second half of this year. He shared this warning on his social media platform, X. "If America goes broke, nothing else matters," he added.

Feud Between Musk and Trump Gets Worse

The fight between Musk and President Trump is getting bigger and more public. After Musk’s post, Trump fired back. He said the US government could save money by ending contracts and subsidies given to Musk. In response, Musk said SpaceX would start shutting down its Dragon spacecraft, which is part of a key NASA program.

Huge Drop in Tesla Stock

The argument is already hurting the markets. On Thursday, Tesla’s stock fell over 14%. This big drop caused the company to lose about $150 billion in value in just one day. Investors are worried that the fight could affect Musk’s companies, especially if the government pulls back support.

Musk Says Trump Owes Him

Musk has also said that Trump should be thankful. He claimed he donated over $250 million to help Trump win the last election. Musk added that Trump only has 3.5 years left in office, but he will still be around for decades. Trump, on the other hand, said he was "very disappointed" with Musk.

A Sudden End to a Fast Relationship

Musk recently left his role as a government adviser. He gave a short speech at the White House, where he had a black eye that he said came from his son. Some saw it as a symbol of his rough time working with the government.
